Welcome to The Screaming Alpha. This blog is intended as a forum for me to hone my writing skills, and at the same time share my passions with the world. The primary focus for the forseeable future will be reviews of tabletop miniatures and pen-and-paper role-playing games, since those are my main hobbies. Curious about the blog’s name? Blame my roomie, who served a hitch in the US Navy. A “Screaming Alpha” is Navy slang for a person who is on fire and usually running about screaming. The origin of the term is that people fit into the category of Class A (Alpha) fires (those involving solid, organic combustables and which leave ashes.) It’s kind of dark humor, but it’s always made me laugh, so now it’s on the masthead of my brave experiment in internet publishing. You must admit it’s memorable.
