Video Interview: Tom Anders Talks Elfball from Gen Con 2009

Submitted by John Price on Friday, 21 August 2009No Comment

tom andersTom Anders is a man with a serious passion for fantasy football. He was deeply involved with the development of another famous football-themed game at a certain UK-based company, and when that company largely lost interest in that property he decided to go out and start his own operation to do it better. The result: Impact! Miniatures and Elfball.

Tom describes Elfball as being based a bit more on rugby than American football, with more of an emphasis on running and rough-and-tumble tackles than long pass plays. Certainly his passion and that of his cohorts at Impact!  shows through in the amazing line of minis that support the game.

The company is also branching out into other sports themes. Having recently acquired the rights to fantasy/basketball hybrid game Nothin’ But Net, plans are currently underway to support NBN with its own line of metal minis. Also in the works (“maybe someday”) is a fantasy hockey game and its associated minis.

Overall, Elfball looks like a blast, and I’m hoping to get my hands on a copy for review in the near future.
