Master Zombie Database Project Update
I’ve managed to largely solve the lighting problem that was the major stumbling block to the Master Zombie Database. I’ve figured out a combination of different lighting and tweaked camera settings that can turn out decent-quality photos, and I’m quite happy about that.
HOWEVER, this has revealed a new and even more vexing problem. I live in an older house, and a combination of age and questionable craftsmanship on the part of the original builders has resulted in flooring that is (to be charitable) wildly uneven. It’s not bad when just walking around in everyday life, but when you’re trying to photograph miniature subjects that need to be square and even with one another the problem is immensely magnified. I’ve even discovered that the light tent I use for my photography is part of the problem, since by the nature of its construction it can’t be made to sit perfectly flat.
Suffice it to say I am at a bit of an impasse. I just don’t know how I can get a workspace big enough to shoot in that’s level enough to not screw up my photos. Rest assured I’ll figure it out somehow. I might be able to borrow the photo area at my stepfather’s studio, but I hate having to pack all my stuff up and then work in an area I don’t control and to which I don’t have constant access.
I’ll figure it out soon enough, and I’ll keep posting updates as the project moves forward. Thanks for your patience.

Have you thought about making an adjustable table to sit within your light booth?
Make a little table with four legs, with each leg being a threaded screw in type. Then, when ever you need to set up your stuff for photography, pull out the table and a regular level and screw or unscrew the legs until the table is level.
