Thanks, Vamp. I look forward to reading your take on them.
Are they the best around? I certainly think so. Second place is a tough call for me, but probably goes to Griffin which narrowly edges out Cold War. I don;t like the odd scale choice on Griffin's minis and I love the variety and personality of the Cold War mini. Still, the incredible work on the damage of the Griffin figs wins out by a nose.

Thanks, Darren. I also got the Romero fig, which really made me laugh. It's such a great likeness of him circa his Night/Dawn of the Dead era, complete with ponytail. Can't wait to paint him.

I agree 100%. These guys are so cool they really demand the best paintjobs one can muster. I probably took twice or three times as long to paint them as I customarily do with zeds, but I'm really happy with the results. Once again, great minis inspire great painting!

Thanks, Jake. I've been wanting to get my hands on the King Zombie minis for a while now and have heard they're good. Hopefully I can score some to review one of these days.

Love your review, John. Love the figures even more! I've just finished painting set 2 and hope to review them on my own site very soon. Best zombie figues on the market? I'm inclined to agree with you. You get some figures and painting them can be a real chore but not with these beauties. I thoroughly enjoyed painting them and can't wait to field them in another skirmish game. By the way, did you get the free George A. Romero zombie?

Great review. I ordered both mobs at the same time and received the limited edition George Romero zombie with ponytail and thick glasses.

Thanks for the review, I've got both mobs on the way. I love it when stories are told through zombies, whether in movies, miniature or whatever. Small touches can create a story on their own, such as the bandaged wounds you mention in the review.

For these fellows I'm afraid I'm going to have to step up my zombie painting somewhat and treat these as character models.

Resin figues with stunning detail.

Also, Mob 2 from Studio is darned good!
