Man, RPG Reviews Are A Lot of Work!

Submitted by John Price on Wednesday, 7 January 2009No Comment

tiredlionessI hadn’t really appreciated just how much work a decent RPG review is. MS Word says it took just over two solid hours of typing and editing to produce the Fleshmongers review, and that just a 50 page suppliment. It certainly puts my plans to review a bunch of whole RPG systems in perspective a bit. Obviously, I’m a bit verbose as a writer, but at the same time I think it’s of little value to the reader to just whack out a paragraph or two, write “It rules!” or “It Sucks!” at the end and sign off.

I like to think that anybody reading one of my reviews comes away with a pretty good sense of the pros and cons (according to me) of whatever it is I’m writing about. If that means my RPG reviews are a bit fewer and far between then I guess that’s what it means.
